Application Server Overview

Application Servers are a specialized type of server designed to provide an productive work environment to employees and other authorized users of a clients network.  There are an infinite variety of configurations and types of application servers on various platforms, but at Liberation Software, we focus on just two - Web Application Servers, and Terminal Server Environments.

Web Application Servers

These can be either Internet (public) or Intranet (private) servers which run a series of interconnected web applications.  These web applications interact with one another in a pre-designed fashion to facilitate one or more aspects of business automation.
